Of Indian origin, now based in San Francisco, California, USA, acclaimed International Concert Artist, Vocal Coach & Consultant, Deirdre Lobo comes from an extremely artistic family with her mother Celia Lobo, India’s only living Opera Diva, her sister Carolyn Vincent an accomplished Speaker and Community Enthusiast in Australia, and her brother Ashley Lobo, International Dance Choreographer.
Deirdre is winner of the GRAND PRIZE in the Messiah Soloist Competition, San Diego, California (Dec 4, 2011), and SECOND PRIZE in the Barry Alexander International Vocal Competition, New York (Dec 19, 2011). A versatile artist, Deirdre frequently performs as soloist in concert, and in recital internationally.

With more than 30 years of experience in the music business, Deirdre has coached, and directed singers, choirs, actors, and speakers in classes, presentations, productions, and workshops worldwide. Some of Deirdre’s students have gone on to have international careers in singing, acting, and dance, including Tara Sutaria, Pia Sutaria, Meher Mistry, Shweta Shetty, Shiamak Davar, and Abhilasha Chellam, to name a few. It is with her versatile and holistic technique, and approach to vocal coaching that students are able to sing ANY genre of music (Pop, Broadway, Hip Hop, Blues, Jazz, Western Classical, Indian Classical, Bollywood) or speak with elegance and finesse!

As a wellness coach, Deirdre has worked with students with special needs, and speech impediments. She has also worked with Stroke & Parkinson’s patients to regain their speaking & singing voices. As a speech coach, Deirdre has done workshops for Toastmasters in the United States, and Canada providing vocal technique to speakers, training them to project their voices better, and reduce their accents.

Deirdre is artistic director & founder of the CELIA LOBO ACADEMY OF VOICE, CLAV USA (www.clavusa.com). Recently CLAV collaborated with the ROYAL CONSERVATORY OF MUSIC (RCM), Toronto, CANADA now making available to CLAV students, a very high standard curriculum, and music examinations in the areas of voice, musicianship (Theory, Ear Training, Sight-Reading, Music History, Counterpoint, and Music Analysis), Speech Arts & Drama (Deirdre is representative for Speech Arts and Drama for RCM in the United States). Students in the USA and Canada are able to receive credit towards High School, and College studies. Deirdre coaches students internationally via her ONLINE VOICE STUDIO and currently has a huge presence in India, Germany, and the United States. She prepares students for Trinity College of Music, ABRSM, and London College of Music examinations remotely in the areas of Western Classical, Rock & Pop, and Musical Theatre. In addition, CLAV also collaborated with SINGERS EDGE a Pop Music Vocal Technique program used by Grammy Award winning artists like Barbara Streisand, Michael Jackson and Beyoncé.

FIVE DAY SINGING COURSES FOR THE YOUNG SINGER
The Five-Day Singing Course is designed for the Young Singer ages 7-17 years, and each session is an hour in duration focusing on the Broadway, Disney or Pop genres of music. The course is designed to be progressive starting with the Basics to more Advanced aspects of Vocal Technique, various areas of Performance, and Holistic Development. Students will be taught vocal exercises related to the songs they will be singing each day specific to one of each of the following genres of music: Broadway; Disney; & Pop. Students participate in the END OF COURSE IN-CLASS PRESENTATION and receive a CERTIFICATE OF COMPLETION. Five-Day Courses are offered in North and South Mumbai.

Vocal technique Workshop for Speakers is designed for those who want to learn to project their voices, reduce their accent, maintain vocal health, and speak with elegance and finesse! Vocal Technique Workshop for Singers are for ages 18 years to adults, and are designed for Singers-Actors-Dancers-Speakers-Choirs with focus on specific areas of Vocal Technique, Holistic Development, and Performance, and its application to ANY Genre of Music but more specifically to Musical Theatre, Disney, Pop, Rock, Bollywood, and Western Classical. Vocal Technique for the Singer-Dancer
This workshop is for the SINGER-DANCER interested in developing singing technique enabling him/her to sing and dance with ease, to be able to project their voices, sing with clear diction; and not run out of breath while dancing. This Workshop runs for 3 hours. Students will work on diaphragmatic breathing; vocal projection, and diction. Vocal Technique for Choirs
Choral Workshops are designed for choral groups interested in working on their vocal technique. The session runs for 3 hours. Students will work on diaphragmatic breathing; vocal projection, and diction. Choirs must prepare 1 piece they would like coaching on. Chorus director must send in the music in advance as a PDF. Choruses must sign up for coaching, and chorus director must be present. Each Chorus will be coached for not more than 20 minutes. There is a total of 4 coaching slots. Each choir is to bring their own accompanist.

A Voice Workshop for Western Classical Singers
This is a 2-part workshop open to singers from Beginner-Emerging Artist-Professional Level. As a group, Students will work on diaphragmatic breathing, lower larynx singing, and vocal projection with the use of relaxing, breathing and vocal exercises. Students are expected to bring in one piece to be coached 1-on-1. There is a total of 8 slots in Part 1 and 6 slots in Part 2. Each student will coach for not more than 15 minutes. Students must bring in their own accompanist. Students must have a copy of the sheet music for themselves, their accompanist, and for the instructor. Pieces to be performed from memory. Even though there are a certain number of slots, students are welcome to observe and stay from beginning to end. Students wishing to be coached must sign up in advance. Slots are on a first come first serve basis.

Each student will coach for not more than 15 minutes. Students must bring in their own blue-tooth speaker and karaoke track. Pieces to be performed from memory. Even though there only 6 slots, students are welcome to observe and stay from beginning to end. Students wishing to be coached must sign up in advance. Slots are on a first come first serve basis.
