Switzerland’s Lucerne Symphony Orchestra to perform in Mumbai on the 7th and 8th of July 2016
The Embassy of Switzerland in India and the Consulate General of Switzerland in Mumbai announce the performances of the Lucerne Symphony Orchestra, in Mumbai.
Currently on an Asian tour through Seoul, Yongin, Daejeon, Shanghai, Xi’an, Singapore, the Lucerne Symphony Orchestra will perform for the very first time in India. They will offer a magnificent program at the National Centre for Performing Arts (NCPA) in Mumbai on 7th and 8th of July 2016. The concert will be attended by the Ambassador of Switzerland to India and Bhutan, Dr. Linus von Castelmur and the Consul General of Switzerland in Mumbai Mr. Martin Bienz.
The Lucerne Symphony Orchestra is a dynamic ensemble with a 200-year history, and best understands how to leverage creativity within tradition and innovation. James Gaffigan, hailed for the enchanting insight of his musicianship, is Chief Conductor of the Orchestra. Georgian pianist Khatia Buniatishvili, one of the prodigious pianists, will perform piano concertos by Beethoven and Grieg. With some of the best musicians in the world playing for it, the orchestra continues to enthrall international audiences.
Strongly anchored in Lucerne, a city with a worldwide reputation for music, the Orchestra offers a number of annual concert cycles as the orchestra-in-residence of the Lucerne Theatre.
