TRINITY LABAN ANNOUNCES UDMI DEVI SCHOLARSHIPS FOR INDIA
London’s Creative Conservatoire is delighted to announce the new Udmi Devi Scholarships, which will enable talented young performers born and educated in India to train at Trinity Laban from September 2020.
The gift of £100,000 has been made in the name of the anonymous benefactor’s grandmother, the late Thakurain Udmi Devi, a progressive and caring woman who placed great emphasis on the education of all those around her. It will provide an opportunity for aspiring performing artists who would not otherwise be able to study in the UK without financial support to train within the inspiring environment of the internationally celebrated Conservatoire.
From September 2020, one new Udmi Devi Scholarship will be awarded each academic year to a student born and educated in India who demonstrates excellence in music, dance or musical theatre.
The recipient will receive a multi-year scholarship for the duration of their programme of study to the value of £10,000 per annum.
The new scholarship furthers Trinity Laban’s commitment to widening access for talented and dedicated international students and reinforces the Conservatoire’s role as a leader for international development in arts education and innovation.
Trinity Laban will be holding auditions in India for 2020 entry on 8 December 2019 (Mumbai) and 9 December 2019 (Delhi).
