About Artie’s

logotype-arties-noir-complet-boldArtie’s is a family of musicians with international fame, gathered by the cellist Gauthier Herrmann around a passion for chamber music and the will to share it in a relaxed and friendly way.

These musicians are soloists, chamber musicians or members of great European orchestras (Orchestre National de France, Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France, Mahler Chamber Orchestra, Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra in Amsterdam…), engaged in a modern approach to classical music which promotes sharing and intimacy.

Individually, they crisscross the globe and play in the most prestigious concert venues (Carnegie Hall in New York, Wigmore Hall in London, Tsuda Hall in Tokyo, Forbidden City Hall in Beijing, Théâtres des Champs-Elysées and Châtelet in Paris, NCPA in Mumbai, Diwan Philharmonic in Kuala Lumpur…).

In 2014, after 8 years of focussing on chamber music with more than 130 pieces performed, Gauthier and his friends decided to create the Artie’s Chamber Orchestra (ACO), to dive into new repertoire, searching a new sound and a new experience.

Between the two World Wars, Arnold Schoenberg and his students created the Society for Private Musical Performances («Verein für musikalische Privataufführungen»). Through this society, they arranged more than 150 symphonic works for chamber orchestra (12 to 25 musicians). Following the great Maestro, the ACO pursues this amazing work and highlights this fantastic idea of rediscovering this repertoire through a new prism.
