Sidonie, a resident of Kolkata, grew up in a musical family where many genres of music were regularly played. The first concert she attended in Calcutta was when a very young Daniel Barenboim played Beethoven’s ‘Emperor’ Concerto with the Calcutta Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Bernard “Bunny” V. Jacob at Calcutta’s New Empire Theatre in the early 1960’s. She still regularly attends concerts.
