SOI Chamber Orchestra is set to perform one of Mozart’s most popular works at the NCPA
The Symphony Orchestra of India (SOI), based at the National Centre for the Performing Arts (NCPA), Mumbai, is India’s first and only professional orchestra having performed a range of musical events ever since its inception in 2006. Not only has the SOI worked with renowned conductors as Martyn Brabbins, Carlo Rizzi, Augustin Dumay amongst many others, they have also performed at various international centres as the Hall of Columns, Moscow, the Royal Opera House, Muscat and the Emirates Palace Auditorium, Abu Dhabi amongst other tours.
Within Mumbai, the SOI Chamber Orchestra has delivered several successful events and after nearly two months since its last event in December, they are delighted to rehearse and perform for their enthusiastic patrons.
Bringing in a splendid surprise for the audience, the SOI Chamber Orchestra is set to perform a programme featuring one of Mozart’s most popular works, Eine kleine Nachtmusik, or “A Little Night Music”, the opening of which is one of the most recognizable themes in western classical repertoire. Apart from this, the programme will also include renowned works by Schubert, Bach, Paganini, Shostakovich, and many more.
SOI once again welcomes it’s patrons to the NCPA premises on 25th February, Friday at 7:00pm.
