India-Denmark Symphonic Collaboration

The Symphony Orchestra of India (SOI) has invited the Danish conductor Maria Badstue, and twenty classical musicians from the very best symphony orchestras in Denmark, for a week-long programme of masterclasses, studies and musical workshops, culminating in two unique concerts in Mumbai.
India’s premier cultural institution, the National Centre for the Performing Arts (NCPA) in Mumbai is hosting the programme in collaboration with the Symphony Orchestra of India and conductor Maria Badstue as artistic director.
Emma Steele, the young and newly appointed concertmaster of the world’s oldest symphonic orchestra, The Royal Danish Orchestra, will join the concerts as a soloist and concertmaster. Concert pianist and Associate Professor at the Danish National Academy of Music, Christina Bjørkøe, will be performing as a soloist and conducting masterclasses at the NCPA.
