Recital: Nurit Stark & Cédric Pescia

Israeli violinist and violist Nurit Stark studied in the Rubin Academy Tel Aviv, Juilliard School New York, Musikhochschule Cologne, and Universität der Künste Berlin. A prize winner at the G. Enescu Competition Bucharest, Chamber Music Competition “Premio Trio di Trieste”, and L. Mozart Violin Competition Augsburg, Stark has made solo appearances with such orchestras as the Israeli Philharmonic under Zubin Mehta, Muenchner Radio Orchestra, Bremen Philharmonic, Sao Paolo Symphonic Orchestra, and the Lithuanian Chamber Orchestra. She will perform Bloch’s only full-blown violin concerto, which is known to be a triumph of heart and intellect.

Cédric Pescia, pianist of dual French and Swiss nationality, was born in Lausanne. He studied with Christian Favre at the Conservatoire de Musique in Lausanne, later with Dominique Merlet at the Conservatoire de Musique in Geneva where he earned a Premier Prix de Virtuosité with honours and completed his studies with Klaus Hellwig at the Universität der Künste in Berlin. Cédric Pescia was the brilliant First Prize Winner (Gold Medalist) at the 2002 Gina Bachauer International Artists Piano Competition in Salt Lake City (USA). In 2007, Cédric Pescia was honoured with the Prix Musique de la Fondation Vaudoise pour la culture. He was also a prizewinner at the Bourse de la Fondation Leenaards in Lausanne.

For many years Nurit Stark and Cédric Pescia have been working in close collaboration.
