Tejaswinee is a masters graduate from the Cognitive Science Lab, IIIT-Hyderabad, advised by Dr Bipin Indurkhya. Her research interests are multimodality and spatial metaphors in improvised musical performance, focusing on gestures and spatial imagery in Hindustani music. Her latest projects are about exploring tonal structures via graphs and generating musical phrases from rules and grammars. She also works as a Project Engineer in the VLEAD project at IIIT Hyderabad, to create a Virtual Lab for experimentation, content aggregation and curation in Hindustani Music for the web at Music Virtual Labs. She has a bachelors degree in Industrial Engineering from Nagpur University, a bachelors diploma in Hindustani Classical music from Prayag Sangeet Samiti and a diploma in Western classical theory and composition from Trinity college of music. She also plays several musical instruments such as the harmonium, piano, guitar and others. She will be going to University of Oslo, Norway for her PhD soon.
