Roy Wadia was born and raised in Bombay, but has lived and worked as a communications and media professional in Atlanta, Beijing, Vancouver and Bangkok. He is also Director of Wadia Movietone, the pioneering Indian movie studio founded by his grandfather JBH Wadia, working on preserving its archives and legacy. Roy studied the piano for many years with the late Bombay-based teacher Piloo Mancekji, acquiring his Licentiate of Pianoforte (Performer's) from the Trinity College of Music and Drama in 1985. Roy served as music critic for The Daily and The Afternoon newspapers in Bombay from 1980 through 1986, while still in college. He's glad to get the opportunity to review concerts once again, this time for Serenade.
