Pattie Gonsalves is the Head of Institutional Advancement at the Global Music Institute (GMI). She works in the areas of arts and health based research and action projects with children in India. Her diverse background ranging from psychology development and public health has given her opportunities to work with organisations including UNICEF and the International Institute for Sustainable Development (IISD). In 2008, she co-founded Music Basti (www.musicbasti.org), a non-profit music program that works to build life-skills with at-risk groups of children. Today, in addition to her present role as Head of Institutional Advancement at Global Music Institute (GMI) in New Delhi, Pattie is also conducting a research project for New York-based non-profit, Artists Striving to End Poverty (ASTEP) in rural Tamil Nadu, and leading research for Agenda1 in New Delhi, a research and media pilot project studying violence against children. Pattie was a full scholar at the University of Oxford where she studied global health.
