Nancy Nourse is a Canadian educator, composer/arranger and flutist. She has published articles in Journal of Aesthetic Education, Journal of Curriculum Studies, Canadian Music Educators’ Journal, WholeNote, Flutist Quarterly, Pan, Flute Focus and International Flute Journal. Special interests include aesthetics, the flute in liturgy, learning styles, flute choirs, and the history of the piccolo. She is the founder of Nourse Wind Publications and Flute Street, Toronto’s Professional Flute Choir. Piccolo Notes by Nancy Nourse originally appeared in the October 2009 issue of Flute Focus.
