Singaporean Soprano, Janani Sridhar is a seasoned performer of both operatic and concert repertoire. Previous operatic credits include L’elisir d’Amore (Adina) Noye’s Fludde (Mrs. Sem), L'enfant et les sortileges (La Bergère and La Chouette), Die Zauberflöte (Pamina), La Traviata (Violetta Valéry), Madama Butterfly (Kate Pinkerton), Dido and Aeneas (Dido), Les Contes d'Hoffmann (Antonia), Cendrillon (Clorinda), La Boheme (Musetta), and scenes from La Cenerentola (Clorinda), and Le Nozze di Figaro (Countess). Janani is also an active recitalist, and has been a soloist with orchestras such as the Singapore Symphony Orchestra, Singapore Chinese Orchestra, and Orchestra of the Music Makers. Competition and awards credits include 3rd place in New Jersey Association of Verismo Opera Vocal Competition, 1st place in University of Connecticut’s Concerto Competition, the Amy Jane Cohen Encouragement Award-Connecticut Concert Opera, 3rd place in National Opera Association Vocal Competition, Young Artist Award in the Harold Haugh Competition, 1st place in the Youth Asian Music Competition, Gold with Distinction in the Youth Asian Music Competition, 1st place in the Llangollen Musical Eistedfodd, 1st place in the Young Singer of the Year Awards, the Manhattan School of Music Scholarship, the Oberlin Conservatory Dean’s Scholarship, and the HSBC Youth Excellence Award. Janani is an alumna of the Oberlin Conservatory of Music and Manhattan School of Music, and is currently pursuing her doctoral studies at Stony Brook University.
