Theme and Kawai Pianos, together with The Majolly Music Trust, proudly present the 4th edition of the Kawai National Junior Piano Competition.

The mission of this Competition is to encourage and to promote musical culture among children and youth by holding an annual piano competition which showcases the talents of gifted participants from all over India and provides opportunities for music appreciation, better musical understanding, and interactions with distinguished teachers for further musical growth.

For 2017, the focus will be on Minuet Dances from the Baroque and Classical styles and pieces on the subject of nature from the Romantic and 20th Century Eras. We have young participants from all over India, 13 years of age and below, who will vie for the top prize of a KAWAI DIGITAL Piano KDP9.

Preliminary rounds via video have already taken place, and the semifinals and finals will take place on April 30th 2017 at the Alliance Française de Bangalore. The Finals at 6 pm are open to the public.

Our judge this year is musician / theatre personality / filmmaker, Preetam Koilpillai, and Ricky Kej (Grammy winner) and his wife Varsha, will be our chief guests.
