We have some great news for classical guitar enthusiasts. A 5-day Festival and Competition across Delhi, Kolkata and Bangalore! We spoke with Veda Aggarwal, Director of the Indian Guitar Federation to tell us more about this coming week –

From 13-17 December, 2015, the Indian Guitar Federation is presenting 3 International Classical Guitar Festivals & Competitions in Delhi, Kolkata and Bangalore. These are full-day festivals with workshops and masterclasses during the day and concerts each evening by our visiting guitar maestros.

This year the Indian Guitar Federation is celebrating Asia. The first Asian GFA winner Ekachai Jearakul from Thailand will be part of the festivals in Bangalore. And more importantly, we’re also celebrating the formation of the Asian Guitar Federation – a not for profit body which aims to connect and coordinate activities between the various Guitar/Music Societies in Asia for the mutual benefit of all. The featured guitarists at each festival are Asian superstars, people who were pioneers of classical guitar music in their own countries. The list of these guitarists are as follows –

SIMON CHEONG (Malaysia)
LEON KOUDELAK (Czech Republic / Thailand)
THU LE (Vietnam)
KEVIN LOH (Singapore)
SAMUEL MOK (Hong Kong)
