The Young Talent and Budding Brigade Concert Series is presented annually by The Stop-Gaps Cultural Academy in association with the National Centre for the Performing Arts, and supported by Furtados. These concerts aim at promoting and encouraging Western classical music among young people, while providing talented young artistes a concert platform on which to perform and present themselves to a fairly wide audience. 2019 is our 30th year!

BUDDING BRIGADE: Each performer will perform a programme of 10 minutes.
CHOICE OF MUSIC
The performer is permitted his/her own choice of music to be performed. However, no two performers in the same Concert will be allowed to perform the same piece/work. The performer whose application was received first will be allowed to play the piece, while the other will have to make the necessary change, for which s/he will receive information in advance. A list indicating the performer’s repertoire, with personal choices and alternatives, must be sent in advance to the Selection Committee with the applicant’s bio-data.
Vocalists and instrumentalists requiring an accompanist will have to make their own arrangements for one. No fee will be paid to the accompanist by the organisers. The Organisers may help to arrange for an accompanist, provided the music is sent well in advance, and the performer agrees to the dates of rehearsals as per the accompanist’s schedule.
The performers will be allowed to practice on or with the piano on the morning of the Concert.
DRESS CODE AND CONCERT ETIQUETTE
