Túlio Mourão Trio

Pianist and songwriter Túlio Mourão is a highly privileged protagonist in the Brazilian musical scene, having shared his experience for decades with the great artists such as Milton Nascimento, Maria Bethânia and Caetano Veloso. With his emotional sensitivity and analytical approach, Tulio has a rich and diverse artistic range that translates into a pianistic performance of great originality and sophistication.

In his concert, Tulio recreates songs in piano that are revealing the Brazilian soul. Villa Lobos, Milton Nascimento, Chico Buarque, Tom Jobim, Pixinguinha, Caetano Veloso are some of the songwriters evoked along with original songs, with emphasis on award-winning soundtracks and themes recorded by artists such as Bob Berg or Pat Metheny.

Túlio believes that the strength of the Brazilian music is not intimidated by fusions and contextualizations, consonating with nuances of ethnic, jazz or pop music. In his performance, melodic linearity often gives way to emotional relief translated into improvisation both free and charged with personal content.
