Celebrated French composer and conductor Laurent Petitgerard and the dazzling and enthusiastic French pianist Jean-Phillipe Collard make their debuts with the SOI in a program of music by Saint-Saëns and Franck. Collard, whom The New York Times describes as being “able to do almost anything he wants at the keyboard,” will perform the delicate Piano Concerto No. 5 by Camille Saint-Saëns. The program will also include César Franck’s “remarkable and radical” (The Guardian) Symphony in D minor, once a mainstay of symphonic repertoire, but, rarely heard in concerts today.
This performance runs approximately 90 minutes, with one intermission.
