A performance by the BSM Chamber Orchestra, three String Quartets, two Low String Ensembles and Solos by Scotland-based Heidi Van der Swaagh make for a most pleasant way to spend a Sunday afternoon. Entry is free and all are welcome.
British-American cellist, Heidi van der Swaagh, graduated with High Honors in Cello Performance and Music Education from the Peabody Conservatory of the Johns Hopkins University, where she studied with Alison Wells and Alan Stepansky,. A recipient of the Thomas Hunter Scholarship, Heidi completed her MMus in Cello Performance at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland with Alison Wells. Heidi is an advocate for music as a means of social change and engagement. She is principal cellist of the Nevis Ensemble, Scotland’s first street orchestra, with the vision that music is for everyone, everywhere, and has given over 120 concerts with the ensemble across Scotland.
