Dr Biswa Prasun Chatterji is a Calcuttan in exile. He divides his time between Mumbai and Pune. He is a trained biotechnologist holding a PhD in Anticancer Drug Discovery from Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT Bombay). Currently he serves as an Associate Professor in Ajeenkya DY Patil University, Pune. Earlier he had served St Xavier’s College Mumbai and Industry R&Ds. Though by training a serious academic, his hobby includes reading, music and watching movies. His passion for Western Classical Music started from his Calcutta days where he found late Mr. Kishore Chatterji as his guru. He has not only published his research in International journals but also contributed blogs on music, movies to national newspapers (TOI, Indian Express etc) and his personal blog. He is interested in training young minds to well-rounded citizens with knowledge of arts, music, movies and science. He believes in CP Snow’s Two Cultures thesis whereby he wants to create a generation with blended knowledge of science, arts and political awareness. Thus his attempt to write on the basics of Western classical music for beginners. Spreading knowledge in biotechnology is his profession and informing others about music and movies is his passion.
